Is Hedonism for Me?I'm curious about something. Have you ever been to either of the Hedonisms? I want to go being a nudist at heart, but am afraid of scaring the wife too bad with overt sexual activity. Maybe you could do a column on them. Thanks for your time, Bob Nice to hear from you Bob. For those of you who have not heard of the Hedonism resorts, there are two of them located in Jamaica. They are strictly for adults, singles and couples alike. They are all-inclusive so for one price you get all of your meals, drinks, entertainment, access to the sports and fitness facilities, as well as your hotel stay. What makes the Hedonism resorts a little different from other all-inclusive resorts is that it is a meeting place for people who are interested in a more risqué experience than they would have at other resorts. Hedonism Resorts feature a nude beach and adult themed party nights (like toga night or pyjama party night). They also have wet t-shirts contests, body shot contests and other sexy and silly games. Different organizations and groups often hold events at the resorts so you might find a group of latex fetishists there one week, Playboy Centerfolds on another. The Hedonism Resorts' mission is to give their clientele the opportunity to "be wicked for a week". It is an adult escape for people who enjoy alternatives to the status quo of sex. While the themed activities are not mandatory it would not be wise to book such a vacation if you or your partner are not comfortable being around people who enjoy being a little sexy or raunchy in public. While it is technically not permitted to have sex in public places, it has been known to happen on occasion. It is important to keep in mind that even if no one is doing the deed before your eyes, it is an open and sexually charged party atmosphere. Now, I haven't been to a Hedonism resort myself, but I do have a couple of good friends who have been, so I asked them on your behalf for their thoughts. My friend Claire has been to both Hedonism resorts a number of times over the last few years. She says that Hedonism II is a wild, crazy party place. "If they aren't swingers, they shouldn't go to II. Now, Hedonism III can be mellow and risqué with a mixture if nudists, swingers and other people. We have met swingers and non-swingers there. It has always been a fun time." Linda has been to Hedonism II a few times in the past five years. She and her husband find that it is fine place for swingers and non-swingers alike. It is a social place however, and there is always something going on. As of late she has preferred the quietude and the easygoing pace of chartered boat cruises. Nudity and freedom can be celebrated in many secluded and not so secluded spots in the Caribbean. There are lots of options available depending on your schedule and budget. If you are interested in more of a nudist experience (all nude, nearly all of the time), then I recommend that you contact a travel agency that specializes in nudist resorts and vacations. There are number of places both in North America and in the Caribbean that cater to the nudist crowd. The same can be said for those people who would like a more risqué vacation - check with a travel agency that specializes in swinger vacations or contact a swinger organization for their recommendations.
